I just got a positive pregnancy test!!!!!!! I am 10 months out from lap band surgery.  We were not TRYING for a baby but i am SOOOOO excited to be pregnant again.  I have an almost 3 year old bio son and we are getting ready to move to adoption on our 8 month old foster son.  I think i am crazy I will have 3 under 4!! he he Thinking pink this time! ;-) he he

P.S. I am not having any morning sickness or anything (yet, even though I only had it a handful of times with my son) do I need to call my surgeon ASAP to get an unfill or just see how things go!?  Should I atleast see if they will call in a prescription for zofran or something just in case?

First off congrats and welcome.  Congrats on the pending adoption of your foster son too.  How loong have you been fostering him?  LOL - you do need a little more estrogen in the house, so let's hope for a girl for you so you're not totally outnumbered by 'Y' chromosomes.

Next - I don't have a lapband, so can only say from what I've seen the lap band moms on here reply...some have unfills when pg, some don't.  I think it depends on how you're doing eating/drinking and what your dr says.  I wouldn't say that this early out that you have to ru**** though.  Re the zofran, I don't know how your dr is re giving it 'just in case.' S/he may say that they prefer to wait until it becomes a necessity.  Maybe just talk to them about it so that when/if it's needed down the road, they can call it in then?

Good luck.  I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.  Welcome to the board.

Thank you so much! Thanks for thinking pink with me! he he I would LOVE another boy but a girl would help balance our house a LITTLE better! he he If this is a boy we will just have to adopt a girl! he he To answer your question about our FS, we got him at 5 weeks old (he was in FC since birth), his dad signed away rights at 3 months and moms rights were terminated in Feb so we are just waiting to move to the adoption side and start that process!

I will call my doctor later this week (unless if I need to call earlier) and talk to them, thanks for your thoughts!

CONGRATULATIONS!

I did not have to have my band unfilled until the end- and even that was for a medical procedure. My band was pretty tight too. Just make sure that you are monitoring your calories and increase your carbs if you didn't eat any previously. Make sure that you don't continue to lose weight right now either. Keep your body out of ketosis, because that's not healthy for the baby's development. I was queasy in the evenings but did not require meds. If you do start vomitting then def get something- you don't need band slippage. Otherwise, enjoy the next 30 something weeks!! Congrats again!!
